Sou Fujimoto

Born in Hokkaido in 1971, Sou Fujimoto graduated from the Department of Architecture in the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Tokyo in 1994 and established Sou Fujimoto Architects in 2000. After winning the grand prize in the Montpellier International Design Competition in 2014 and the Invited International Competition for the New Learning Center at Paris-Saclay’s Ecole Polytechnique in 2015, he received first prize in 2016 in the International Competition for “Réinventer Paris” in Pershing, Porte Maillot. In 2017, he received first prizes in international design competitions in Brussels, Belgium, and Nice, France. In 2018, he won the international design competition for the University of St. Gallen’s HSG Learning Center as well as for one in Rosny-sous-Bois, France. His main works include the Serpentine Gallery Pavilion in London (2013), House NA (2011), the Musashino Art University Museum & Library (2010), and House N (2008).
