Born in 1975. Based in Kyoto. Nawa completed his doctoral program in sculpture at the Graduate School of Arts (Kyoto City University of Arts) in 2003. In 2009, he launched the creative platform SANDWICH. His artistic practice, which centers on his original “PixCell” concept, explores new possibilities for sculpture by harnessing an array of materials and technologies. Recent years have also seen him tackle architectural and stage projects, producing spaces and art in parallel.
